Chapter One Author Notes

Extended Author Notes for Chapter One

Read this chapter first if you have not already at:

I'll be honest, I wanted to write a Kara/Harry pairing for years even before I started Aspirations. I'm glad I didn't. The Blood Brandy Vegas wedding challenge just gave me the spark.

Much like Spider-Man Chronicles, this will be based on a lot of my own interpretations but people will be mostly in character. Characters will only be introduced when the time is right.

We are in a trilogy, therefore there is going to be a lot of long term build for things that won't happen to much later.

Scene One: We're setting a lot of the groundwork for where the universe is given Sirius lived. I still stand by the belief that Harry gave up for the most part after Sirius died and fell into that pathetic shell he was in the last two books. Last two books had some interesting ideas, but were very flawed. And there were things that did not match up with the first five books. I blame the movies. That's just my opinion.

Hints of the fun night are established.

We meet Kara, well Harry got to know her rather well the previous night. Kara is seventeen years old and obviously has a bit of an attitude. Much like Harry, she's kind of in the shadow of someone more larger than life(Dumbledore and Superman respectively). Something that she may resent to an extent. Also much like Harry, she can get into trouble but can be very resourceful if she's pushed. And she's very head strong, can't forget that.

As such, while we're loosely set in the DC Comics Animated Universe, we're obviously in AU Land right now. So Kara is slightly the same but slightly different. Inspiration has been drawn from many different versions of her and other characters. We're based between STAS and Justice League, which I think there was a year or year and a half gap right there.

Kara has no shame about sharing what happened. Of course, as we find out, they're married, so why would she hold back?

Poor Harry just landed in a situation where he's kind of in over his head. He's married to this hot girl, but he barely remembers anything. Plus the Prophecy is on his mind. Kara may be having similar thoughts about how she might drag Harry into dangerous situations.

Scene Two: Sirius and Harry conversation was rather interesting to right. I think Sirius is really trying to make sure Harry doesn't fall into a fanatical obsession with Voldemort.

Harry's attempt to find an out was more motivated by the fact that he felt it's something he should do, not that it's something he wanted to do.

Harry forgot Moony. And Sirius would be more upset about that.

Scene Three: Got to establish a bit more that Kara is still rather new to Earth, having been here for about two years. And she's inexperienced, even if she's improving. The events of the Superman: The Animated Series finale really had long lasting consequences. Perhaps there's a darker consequence, as Darkseid might have gotten the ball rolling for something in an alternate universe. Fans know what I'm talking about.

Superman kind of freaked out. And Kara understands, but at the same time she's very frustrated. More will be discussed in coming chapters.

Fluff happens and Kara and Harry try and figure this out. They do kind of have to make this work.

Oh, that was kind of mean, Kara to nearly give your husband heart failure and make him think you committed suicide. She couldn't resist.

Harry would be kind of impressed by a wife that could fly without a broom.

Scene Four:

Livewire, not one of the more popular villains and kind of obnoxious, but a decently powered first threat, as we conclude this chapter.
